The D-IAA teams we need to play are FAMU, Georgia Southern, of NCAA

I would love to play Georgia Southern as our IAA opponent.

I too would like to have another shot at Georgia Southern. Have a close friend that's a GSU alum who is always rubbing their wins in my face.

GO BULLS!

Brett has a summary of the scheduling items on his blog today...

http://sports.tboblogs.com/index.php/sports/comments/schedule_filling_up_fast/

Among the info is this:

... the reason there is a Division I-AA opponent each season is as long as Jim Leavitt is coach at USF - and the NCAA allows a I-AA win to count toward bowl eligibility - you’ll see a I-AA foe each year.

I know we've re-hashed this a bit ... but at least we all know that it's Coach Leavitt's call.

I believe we will stop scheduling I-AA games once we are in a position to sign I-A teams to one and done deals (like Penn State and UF do).  I am not sure that will happen during JL's time here though.

Too interesting a game and too tough an opponent. I think they should make a hit list of "USF Flips" that still need to me made right. I am all for bring in and pummeling the Drake. I never forget a fargin loss.

Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Minotaur, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. The Drake, they are dead ducks! GSU dead! HOFSTRA dead! SAN DIEGO STATE . . . . .

The I-A one and one deals haven't stopped Penn State and UF from scheduling I-AA teams.  Penn St. is playing Youngstown St. on Sept 16th and Florida is playing W. Carolina on Nov. 25.

I think a lot of the I-AA games this year is because they just added the 12th game last season and teams had to scramble to fill that game on their rosters.

That doens't mean they won't play these games in the future, but they won't be annual like USF will be (which I have no problem with)
