Facing a May 31 deadline, the Devil Rays have decided against a nickname change for the 2007 season.

The club had been considering dropping the Devil and just going with the Rays. "There will be a change for the 2008 season," CEO Matthew Silverman said. "It could be subtle. It could just be a change to the logo or to the uniforms themselves, but we're going to leave open the possibility for more dramatic changes now that we have the time to investigate it fully." May. 30 - 5:31 p.m. ET

Good, but really, who cares?

When they started installing the sting ray tank in the outfield that kind of gave away the fact there was to be no drastic name change ....

Please change the Logos to a more traditional look, the D-Ray hats are the ugliest.  I like the green and blue color scheme, however, the look and layout is incongruit.

I think they need a third color, a bright one, to make it work. Dark green, dark blue, and black doesnt stand out well.

I also think that with a "sleek" looking ray in the logo, the logo and wordmarks need to also be more "sleek" and less "block".

In other words, it just need a little tweaking...

Actual attendance for Friday's game was a lil over 4500.

Just name them the Rays, as everyone calls them now.  The dome does seem a little friendlier since the management changes.  I wish RJS had the food concessions and beer choices that the Trop has.
