I heard the same arguement from someone in the know and at every practice when they were in Tucson for the softball tourney. You have to be way better than the schollie guy to start... or what would that say about the coaches recruiting...

On the flip side, if coaches played good walk ons, not only would the team do better, but more good walk ons would tend to show up.

Doesnt it bother people that severino's passing numbers were at least as good as the other QB's at the spring game?  In horrible outings by PJ last season, why was this guy NEVER given even a CHANCE?

how were they at least as good? 5-of-11 for 70 yards with two interceptions. that's better than carlton hill, but not better than grothe (who also had two picks, but had a TD, and 97 more yards) and not better than julmiste (similar % and yards, but no picks and accounted for two TDs).

Greg, you're going to need to spend a whole lot more time on here if you plan on seriously responding to stuff like that ..........

He is our starting holder, which is a crucial position when a game comes down to a last second field goal.

Plus I think he'll be a great coach someday.

True that I got overzealous there, but I thought Severino also had a TD, or at least led a TD drive.

Even so, he did not look far and away worse, which would have to get him some time in theory if the starter is passing 40% and grothe was still redshirting.

... As I understand it, he turned down a lot of scholarships at other schools ...

They may have been 1AA ir DII schools.
