good weekend for recruting

Do everyone think there not trying to recruit the best players, sometimes you have to find a diamond in the rough. Alot of those schools are recruiting illegally, but not getting caught. Were are not in a position to try to recruit like that. Cause we will get caught, and that will futher push us back in tryin to recruit the so call blue chippers. Remember there are 119 d-1a schools, and look whose the same teams there every year in the top ten. Give them a chance, it olny can get better,

jesus christ-- why must we all wallow in the mediocrity of 2-3 stars?  we are big time and we have big time talent within a bike ride from campus.. and yet everyone on here wants to bring in recruiting scraps.  this mentality is absolutely sickening if you ask me.. you want 2-3 stars?  then that means you still want to be going to carshop bowl games for at least another 4 years.. leavitt needs to stop messing around with these 2-3 stars and start getting players that can get us to BCS games already

Remember, West Virginia and Louisville have built up their programs with mostly 2-3 star players.

Sure its HARDER than say recruiting 5 star players, but it still can be done.

I actually agree with smazza, 3 years ago Texas had the best recruiting class in the country. USC before that and LSU before that. Any coindicdence?

However, I think a guy thats a 3 star gets the shaft because he's not an upper guy. The top 250 90% of the time are going to be good college football players, however there are still lot of great players out there that don't get noticed because they might have blossomed their senior year, etc.

You must be onto something because 3 years ago the Vols were number 2 and Colorado was 10 and FSU was 4 and the Sooners were 7th and they all did real well this year.

you need to have the best to play with best

usf is at a major disadvantage because our coaches are such underachievers

teams that have great recruiting classes fail for a number of reasons.coaching,injuries  AND SOMETIEMS  kids din't pan out.

ut seemed to put blame on  coaching staff

bottom line:if usf is not in this thing to compete for NC than shut it down. if we are we need to recruit like and with the big boys.

Right.  The staff should have spent untold hours recruiting Tim Tebow and CJ Spiller and not bothered with anyone below that caliber.  Then when Tebow and Spiller went somewhere else, we could have gotten 1 or 2 star guys instead of the 2 and 3, and the occasional 4 who would love to come here right now.  We have to get better every year in recruiting.

We still try to recruit the 4 and 5 star kids, they just aren't coming here yet.  It becomes somthing of a balancing act spending some time on 5 stars in order to try to get their attention while still going after the kids that you have a realistic shot at (2 and 3 stars).
