UM fires at least four football coachesBy SUSAN MILLER DEGNANsdegnan@MiamiHerald.comThe University of Miami fired at least four of its assistant football coaches Monday morning, three days after Louisiana State embarrassed the Hurricanes 40-3 in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

Gone are two of its most entrenched leaders, The Miami Herald has learned: Assistant head coach Art Kehoe, who also served as offensive line coach and played at Miami; and running backs coach Don Soldinger.

Also gone: offensive coordinator Dan Werner and linebackers coach Vernon Hargreaves.

Head coach Larry Coker and senior associate athletic director Pete Garcia delivered the news to the coaches. It was unknown as of 9:30 a.m. if anyone else was fired.

''I got fired. I wish I didn't, but I did,'' Kehoe said. ``I have to move on with my life and take care of my family now.

``I am eternally grateful to the University of Miami for giving me one of the greatest lives you could ever have in college football. We won more games, more national titles, more bowl games, more big games.. When you think about it, I owe everything to this school.

``Miami will always be my university and always hold a special place in my heart. It hurts your pride, but I will rise above it and carry on. It's time to get a new job.''

They should have fired Coker. That was a **** embarassment, they didnt even come to play. LSU was playing a QB in his first career start.

They should have fired Coker.

If you believe Coker should be fired  then JL should definetly be fired and RMC should never be allowed on a basketball court again. (Which I agree with)

Coker took over a NC caliber team with 4-5 star athletes at every position.  I can not agree with your statement.

Coker probably just needs a new OC.

I don't know if I would hire their offensive coordinator.  Miami's offense was pretty bad this year and has been declining since their last National Championship.  Coah Kehoe, however,  is an awesome coach and would be a great hire.

And a great part of hiring them would be a posible upgrade in recruiting also.
