No sense beating this dead horse. Time to go find another program builder like Amir and Alex. We’ve had a successful program that’s won conference titles and gone regularly to regional play in the past. Let’s find a guy who can get us back there.

Does the pink slip come today or does Michael Kelly wait? Really no reason to wait that I see.

Just for the record, CBM still has two years remaining on his contract. Also for the record, we failed to make the conference tournament in a league that only had FOUR teams with an overall record above .500 - arguably, the worst league we’ve ever competed in.

Both CJS and CBG had at least 2 years left on their contracts. If CBM is here next year, will find it hard to believe that the contract had much to do with it ....... although would be a head scratcher if he is. The Super Regional should have been good for an at least 3 year grace period. Two 8th place finishes and a failed to qualify for conf tourney should have used that up.

Yep, and let’s remember that winning the conference tournament AND the regional that year only got us a 31-30 record when all was said and done. Those two weeks in 2021 were god-sent for CBM. He failed to make the league tournament in 2019 and was saved from a 6-11 start in 2020 by the pandemic. Take away those two weeks and he’s looking at SIX straight losing seasons as head coach.

When we look back at his tenure, it will show he won for one season with a team left to him by Mark Kingston - nearly an exact parallel with Willie Taggart/Charlie Strong - and then had a team that got hot for two weeks at just the right time. Everything else was pretty much, meh.

Is Joe Urso too old or is his success simply the result of an unlevel playing field in D2?
