It’s gonna be harder now that our team isn’t seen as an easy win.

It looks like even if we went undefeated in conference play we still wouldn’t have been selected.

They beat 4 tournament teams this year including a 2 seed. We played a total of 3 games vs tourney teams went 1-2 won a close one vs fau. They played a schedule that was much much tougher than we did.

stonedonkey Posted March 17 Group: Member Topic Count: 10 Content Count: 146 Reputation: 49 Days Won: 0 Joined: 03/08/2002 Share Posted March 17 (edited) The season was unexpected and a blast but I have to admit we really blew a chance to get in with those last 2 loses. I'd be lying if I didn't feel like we did the ole "USF things" despite a record breaking season. The truth is FAU won their conference tournament last year after winning their conference and we did what we tend to do and fell a few steps short when we most need to take the next step. Again amazing season and I hope we can carry the momentum with some new players next year but super bummed with the finish. It gets you seeding, thats it. This conference blows and would have been a 1 bid league if FAU won the tourney.

Oklahoma, Seton Hall, Indiana State, and Pitt were the first 4 teams left out of the bracket. Most notably, St. John’s and Providence weren’t close to the field despite holding NET rankings of 32nd and 57th respectively. Yes. Bc those would be quad 1 strong losses LMAO. Ridiculous logic but I think it's how it works. 2 minutes ago, Leviathan said: USF wasn’t as impressive because they beat teams in a bad conference (AAC) yet FAU failed to finish first and didn’t win the tournament in the same conference. Think of those were erased we'd be closer to making it in. I think the conference is terrible and we need out but I think we should look at those horrendous losses as well. Devastated right now but not surprised at all.

They should have kept the Big East name. At least it had some respect. The American isn’t a conference it’s a waiting room to be invited to another conference. Purgatory. If FAU can do it, we can do it ....
