A grotto is a natural or artificial cave used by humans in both modern times and antiquity, and historically or prehistorically.

Had to google this one. Thought you were throwing some AAU level words out. Realized you were probably going with gathering.

Lol no I'm dumb.  Glitched out.  I got my Notre Dame confused with Ole Miss.

GROVE!  🤣

If our average attendance is almost 38K then we won't be able to fit our average in our OCS.  Unless we go bigger.  👀

Not too bad considering USF football used to be a bottom feeder in the AAC before CAG took over.

I like how the stadium is positioned size-wise when it comes to economic value outside of USF football. It's been reported that Vinik's group advised 35k seats will be strategic positioning in the market, with each "level" roughly doubling in capacity. Even with an expansion of 5-15k seats, we still fit above the "mid sized" and below "NFL". Breaking it out we have -

Micro sized - Straz, etc.

Small - Yuengling Center - 10k

Mid - Amalie Arena 21k (Indoor), MIDFLORIDA Ampitheater 20k (outdoor)

Large - USF OCS 35k (upwards of 45-50k in the future)

NFL Stadium - 65k+

This would mean for large artists (not market-movers like TSwift, Kenny Chesney, Beyonce, etc. who sell out NFL stadiums) who want to play in a venue larger than 20k, USF's OCS is in the perfect position to attract those shows. Thinking large country stars like Eric Church, who sold out 2-3 nights at Amalie arena in a couple of hours when they went on sale a few years ago, can now do 2 nights at USF with the same amount of fans/tickets as 3 nights at Amalie. Not sure what fees/revenue is to host shows like that, but if USF can secure 2-3 "events" (maybe weekends of 2 shows each) of large musicians/entertainers, I imagine it will be quite the revenue generator.

Keep in mind that that seating for concerts at the OCS will include field seating, increasing capacity.  This, of course, assumes that seats not used due to stage(s) aren't greater.

Agreed, and often times the stages aren't 360 degrees so some seats behind the stage aren't sold. Too difficult to figure out so I just went with regular seating numbers.

I have to think that we will grow. The only question is how fast.

Unfortunately, the stadium is opening in 27. BB17 if he stays won't be opening the stadium, it will be a transition year which could be a damper on attendance. You wonder, assuming that CAG continues his winning ways if he will be here in four years. He might be gone in 2-3. It's a good problem to have but as pivotal is CAG is for our future, the next hire if he doesn't stay could be even bigger.

Basically what USF needs to do before BB17 & CAG leave is to have a HC in waiting that is from CAG’s staff. Have the coach in waiting basically copy CAG’s coaching philosophy. For the QB situation make sure USF continues to fill the QB spot with the right recruits that fit the offense system. USF messed up their momentum on offense when they hired CCS after CWT left. Hopefully they learned from that.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
