I was a little shocked in the Times article today how it said the NIL for the basketball program is very strong due to some big donors being hard core basketball fans.  I;m not sold on Amir yet but if he is a solid coach we may see a big change in the hoops program

I hadn't even thought about that but makes a lot of sense .... maybe reuniting the Knox brothers may not be as far fetched as first realized.

Couple of interesting excerpts from article about CAAR referenced above ....

“What’s a bleak history to some people looks like a canvas to paint a beautiful picture to other people. And that’s what I saw,” the 42-year-old married dad of three said. “It has to start somewhere.”

CB approves:

Is Abdur-Rahim the guy who can add brightness to that bleak portrait? Bulls legend Charlie Bradley, who recently spent time with Abdur-Rahim, believes so.

“Just being around and just feeling, it’s just a different vibe, a different culture,” said Bradley, who remains the program’s career scoring leader. “He’s got these guys being very respectful and believing; that’s the thing. You’ve still got to play the game, so we don’t know what’s going to happen. But I do think the program is heading in the right direction. I really do.”

it all starts tonight. A lot of cupcakes on our OOC schedule, so we should go into conference play with a winning record.

Outcomes of early games of teams on our upcoming schedule:

1. SCS beat Voorhees 65-57

2. Central Michigan lost to Oklahoma 89-59

3. Northern Iowa lost to North Texas 83-77

4. Maine lost to Charlotte 69-52 and beat Maine-Presque Isle (whoever that is) 111-59

5. Hofstra beat St Josephs LI (whoever that is) 101-48. They shot well from deep (18-42, 43%). In their lost to us last year, they shot same percentage (9-21).

6. UMass beat UAlbany 92-71

7. FSU first game tomorrow

8. Arkansas-Pine Bluff lost to Missouri 101-79

9. Loyola Chicago lost to FAU 75-62. Is Loyola good or did FAU have a bad game?

10. UAlbany lost to UMass 92-71

11. Alabama State lost to Ole Miss 69-59

Looks like FSU and UMass will be toughest games. What do we look like heading into conference play, 11-0, 10-1, 9-2, 8-3, or worst?

Realistically, we shouldn't be worse than 8-3. .500 overall is a very reasonable goal for this squad given the schedule.

I believe that his brother and parents were at the exhibition game.
