If we said before the Season 3-4 after 7 games most would have thought that would be amazing. Expectations became unrealistic quickly

This this keeps getting pointed out a lot and I think we’re comparing two different perspectives.

When people say we played horribly in a game and it looks like we regressed that’s a totally different issue than “how many games are we going to win”? I think if we had lost yesterday by a closer margin or without looking completely lost, the reaction would have been different from many.

I think some were shocked we played so poorly, but inconsistency, to a degree, should be expected.  Progress was seen from game to game early in the season but not maintained the last couple weeks.

We can still win eight games but that won’t change how poorly we played yesterday.  That remains a fact, regardless of our final win tally.

Tom Herman didn’t need to wait to get his guys in to whoop our asses.

Neither did Dilfer. But let’s be honest, both UAB & FAU have won a lot more games during the past 4 seasons or so. It is going to take more for USF to get rid of the losing culture unfortunately

It seems some are concerned that losing mentality has permeated beyond just players.

If we lost losing what would we have left?

This! I'm good with losing if we do so without it appearing as if we were waving the white flag and looking like we quit long before the game was over. What frustrates me is that it appears to me that there are no leaders on this team. No one to round up and hype the troops. No one to light a fire under this team. We keep hearing this next play mentality preached to us, but I haven't seen it within our players the past two games. Why hasn't anyone stepped up to be a leader on this team?! Maybe someone else is seeing leadership on this team and can point it out to me.

The team Tom Herman is coaching hasn't won less than a handful of games in three years against DII schools (yes Temple, you qualify under this statement 😜)

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
