All Goach has to do is show him what happened to Battie and remind him that the grass isn't always "greener" on the other side. Battie went from being the guy and potentially the center of the offense to being relegated to third string. He took the short term payday and very likely cost himself the longer term stream of money in the NFL.

Battie was my favorite player since Mack and Mack was my favorite player since Andre Hall. I guess I like Rbs

If we're going to let "the kids" feel like their in the NFL, we're going to need a NIL cap.

Agreed Battie was a stud.

and his family will get a bag of cash from someone to transfer to bigger stage

god bless america

usf hold off on giving the coaches extensions and start paying the kids

I'm getting tired of this narrative that players will start getting poached for money. Weaver, Horn and Battie transferred with an incoming new coach. Many players transfers when that happens. They just chose to go places where they can get paid. But most starting QBs that do transfer usually went from FCS to FBS or was a SR/Grad Transfer. Let bad things happen first. Don't try to speak them into existence for no reason. Brown's family is not broke and he is a smart kid that sees the bigger picture (NFL). If he does transfer, I feel it may be as a grad transfer 3/4 years from now. If you look at the transfer QBs his year, a majority was either sitting the bench, lost a starting job or was a grad transfer.

Battie has surgery in the offseason. So he had a slower start for this season than the other running backs. Yet he is still averaging 5.1 yards per carry.

You are fooling yourself.  Some terrific money changed hands.  I'll leave it at that.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
