Great game by Evans. HE did his part to try to knock down bama. Bama was just testing out their back up quarterbacks apparently. . . They announced the original starter is now their starter against versus Ole Miss. Edited September 18, 2023 by Outlaw

With that combination, we could be very good. Berryhill was out of position a couple of times during the game but he'll learn. They'll all get better I would like to see defensive linemen put up stats like that and we'll know that we are turning the corner on the defensive side of the ball.

Yeah, but should your DB's have more sacks,TFL's or qb pressures than your DL's or LB's consistently.

Kinda depends on what the DC is drawing up on a regular basis. Ronde Evans is kind of skewing that perception a little right now because Orlando obviously has some packages utilizing the heck out of him. Take him out of the picture and the TFL's and QBH's swing toward the DL/LB's. Sacks are about even but yeah, I'd agree, you would definitely like to see some of those QBH's turned into sacks. Part of the issue with the DL getting those numbers is the 3-Man front. Ideally they're eating the blocks up for the LBs, but obviously Todd Orlando drew up the defense this past week to get pressure from the secondary with apparently a pretty good idea that it would give the OL and QB fits. A lot of commentary about Bama's OL coming in was that they were massive but slow. Makes sense to get pressure with some of the faster guys on the field, and it proved successful. Almost every time we brought a corner or safety they were past the OL before they had time to react. In defense of our DL as well, they did an outstanding job standing up to Bama's OL. You never really saw them get blown off the line of scrimmage until a few plays later in the game after the O had done little to support them all day. Given the size difference, their OL was supposed to just run over us and they found that more difficult than they probably anticipated coming in.
