Dont need Rice or Navy. There are 7 winnable games left. Not saying that happens but there is more than one way to 6 wins.

That is a great way to look at it. I’m hoping USF beats both Rice & Navy to pretty much make the path to a bowl game easier. However if USF comes out 1-4 after the Navy game they still can make a bowl game beating all those teams you have listed.

If we can't make it to a bowl with this weak booty schedule, we need to neuter all the bull statues around campus!

This team will not be bowling, and might be worse than any Jeff Scott team.

I have been really encouraged so far.

Let's be honest. We were 1-11 last year, and lost most of the top talent who was eligible to return. And, just look at a Colorado box score if you doubt we had talent last year.

Our schedule is a bit softer, and we will be a bit better than last year, even with all that talent leaving.

End result, we should be happy with around 4-5 wins.

We can beat: Navy, UAB, UConn, FAU, Temple, and Charlotte

If everything goes our way, we might be able to beat: Rice

Getting to 4-5 wins seems reasonable, and just one more win at 6 you go bowling.

I just want progress, and it feels like I am getting it.

Maybe we go to a bowl game, maybe we don't. Just don't lose the next 10 games.

Exactly! USF in just two games in this season already surpassed last season with the win over FAMU. FAMU is a tougher opponent than Howard and Howard gave USF a game last season. So those that are thinking USF is taking a step back need to go back & watch last season. USF will be fine.

I'm in the "show me progress this year, it's not necessary to go bowling" camp. That said, I think we have a solid shot.

Doable, even while we struggle:

  • FAU
  • UAB
  • Temple
  • Rice
  • Charlotte

Also doable, but more challenging:

  • Navy
  • UConn

Very challenging, but not impossible:

  • UTSA
  • Memphis

Loss:

  • Alabama

I think we are going to win way more games b/c our offense believe it or not is better this year. Everybody is ripping BB, but Gerry didn't even have a touchdown pass until the ECU game which was the 5th game of the season. So far Byrum Brown has 4td passes and 4 Rushing TDs in the first 2 games.....and that's while not playing his best. The difference b/w this year and last year is our defense is waaaay better.

First 2 games of 2022 - Our defense gave up 562 rushing yards

First 2 games of 2023 - Our defense gave up 148 rushing yards

It is the same setup, we started off playing an FBS school and an FCS school after.

This is a good list. I agree with most on here.

I think Rice is better than you think. And Navy and UConn worse, but we are on the road for those two.

Good points. And to me I have seen enough of the defense side to see that they can make some plays unlike what we saw last season. To me that makes me very happy.

Yes. Rice is better than I thought they would be. They didn’t get embarrassed by Texas and they beat Houston. Hopefully their trip to Tampa will get them a loss against USF. If USF wins that game it is a big confidence booster to start conference season
