OF Daniel Cantu decided to use his last year of eligibilty as a Graduate Transfer and play for FSU.  Saw it on Twitter earlier.  I wish him well.  I got to know him and his parents a little bit over the last few years.  We'll miss his leadership and presence in the lineup and dugout this season.  Hoping he has a great year and is drafted in 2024!

Best of luck kid in the ACC. If he wants to go pro this is probably the best move for him. Looks we already lost one of the better players for next year. The baseball coach is already coaching for his job the program was trending in the wrong direction. I hope he can bring in someone of equal or better talent.

He has no better chance of being drafted at FSU than he did for us. It is what it is. I don't blame him at all for the move, but it isn't to help his draft stock. He's either going to a) win more or b) win just as much, but do it in a much nicer clubhouse and with way more free **** to wear.

I am not the baseball expert when it comes to aac vs acc but I thought the acc had better teams. I know the acc have  guys drafted in the first few rounds the last few years. But we have the coach next year no matter what and I hope usf baseball turns it around. If not then we will be finding a new coach.

Anyone find any portal info for baseball? I see other schools signing guys out of the portal but can’t find anything on us. A couple of decent UF pitchers (Tyler Nesbit and Clete Hartzog) are in the portal. FSU has signed I think 5 guys or more? Their opening day starter last year - Montgomery- is in the portal. We need to be loading up on arms from the portal for next year or it’s more of the same.

FSU definitely has a better pedigree, but they were 23-31/9-21 last season.

More than half of Wichita State’s roster is in the portal:

Horizontal-Wichita-State-WSU-Baseball-1.

Whoever takes over as the new skipper of the Wichita State baseball program will have the cupboards bare next season.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
