I'm positive we will have a I-AA team they are cheap to bring in and we only have 3 BE home games. I don't think it will be FAMU, Miami gets their attendance boost next year.

Villanova opens its 2006 schedule at Central Florida. They only play one I-A opponent each year, and have Maryland in 2007 and West Virginia in 2008 ...

Hadn't we heard over the last year and a half, we were in talks with Tulane, Southern Miss and ECU?  Wonder if those will pan out?

There must be 50 1-A teams out there looking for 1 for 1's with the 12 game schedule looming.  I'm sure DW has it under control and is negotiating the best offers.

The PAC10 made the smartest move to accomodate the 12 game schedule by committing to the first 9 game conference schedule.  They are all set with their OOC commitments  - don't need to find the 4th game.

I only see 11 schools on Famu's schedule. That means they have 1 more game to schedule. I distinctly remember that game against the Rattlers was the inaugaral "Tampa Classic" in which FAMU would come to Tampa once a year. They said it may not always include USF.  The "Classic" was a FAMU game not so much a USF game. Since that schedule only shows them having 4 home games I guess they really need the money. I still think they could end up on the schedule.

I believe they are one of many D-IAA teams that opted to play 11 games next season, they don't make money from extra games like the D-I teams do.

Such as WSSU http://www.ibcsports.com/football/2005/wssu/wssu_2006_football_schedule.htm

I remember reading in the article about the inaugural Tampa Bay Sports Authority Classic (the FAMU game) that they had only signed a 1 year deal, so it's up in the air as to whether or not that will occur again.

I don't see why any IAA team would not take a second IA payday as an away game to fill out the 12 game schedule and walk away with another $100,000 to $400,000.  The 12 game schedule handed them the option for increasing their budgets/revenues quite easily.

I think you've got it backwards.  I thought the game was to always involve USF and the other team might change.  This year it could be FIU, I guess.
