I know the more traditional ones in here would hate to see it change, but I can't get myself to sing the fight song.. the melody is great, but the words for the most part suck.

I think they both work well for what they are: The fight song as our fight song, MArch Victorious as our pregame riser/victory song. Those with El Toro Caliente and the stands version of the Malaguena theme serve as a nice complement of school standard tunes for us.

#8 is the best IMO......That is what makes us unique  FSU has the chop, UF has the stupid gaYtor thing, Miami and UCF have the same tradition song just different motions with their hands, WE GOT #8 GO BULLS!!!!!

fight song is horrible IMO. It sounds like carnival music with words that a high school cheerleader would shout. Give me an S...give me an O....give me a U...etc..

I keep hoping that like the logo, someone will realize it needs an upgrade to a fight song that actually has a bit of "fight" in it! Until then I'll just continue to cringe everytime I hear the wurlitzer begin.

I know, mutt, but we have to start.

My first college football game was at Michigan State - they were playing Notre Dame.  The sound of 60,000 people actually SIGNING the fight song drowned out the band.  It was an amazing thing to see.

And I know that most of us have heard the Michigan fans signing "Hail to the Victors..."

Moreover, if people learn the words, the fight song actually starts to sound like a fight song.

As a Michigan fan I'm biased but the Victors is the best fight song around. What makes it great is when the crowd is "Hailing!" the victors you get the feel of a nation cheering on their military as they marching out to do battle or applauding them as they return home victorious. I don't really agree that lots of voices can make a crappy fight song great, it needs attitude, it needs to be militaristic. ie....it needs to be a FIGHT song making you want to battle, not to giggle. When girls find the song fun or cute, well...that AINT a FIGHT song! I think some people do enjoy the south florida part but **** that song definitely does NOT get the blood boiling in a frenzy to fight and that is what makes a great FIGHT song!
