If 30,000 seats is not too big for lacrosse then it’s probably OK for soccer

Sure... but the owner of the team is talking about building a much smaller stadium.  (Using it for WLAX purely about Title IX... the team could likely use Corbett just fine)

The only point was responding to Frisco... who said no one would ever say that someone would be looking for a stadium for professional women's soccer, when in fact someone actually is looking for a homw.

The reality is the new Tampa team needs the stadium in 2024.

I am wondering if they will eventually move to Shaw land in Ybor city area. We shall see if they get the new Rays stadium built near there on the water.

A complex with a new Rays stadium, 8k-10k seat soccer pitch (expandable for MLS) for Rowdies/USL Women, water edge walkways and retail/bars/food built on the Shaw Ybor channel property should be a no brainer.  It would complete development between the Aquarium and core Ybor.  It would be awesome to be able to take the river walk (and expanded streetcar system) from N Blvd bridge/Armature all the way to Ybor 7th ave.

Ouch. I guess other cities have put stadiums in spots like that but they also have awesome mass transit. That has parking nightmare written all over it.

Any idea what is/was in those huge concrete silos down there?

Yeah! I do believe we may see something similar take place in that area. Rays have been quiet lately regarding the stadium situation and said they will let people know around December. Plus downtown Tampa has been giving small hints with all their Rays Up posters up around the city.

There were some leaked blue prints that showed the stadium on unit northeast corner of  waterfront where there a some silos to remove.

The plans that you see available show no stadium but have condo & apt tower’s developed around the water front where there will be kayak rentals and SUP boards galore. I do believe they are keeping the new stadium location under wraps until December..
