Or, hire Leavitt as DEFENSIVE coordinator. It's obvious the one we have now has lost it.

No way Leavitt should be answering to Jeff Scott. Jim Leavitt did it in his first season with nothing than Scott has did here in 2.5 Seasons. Scott deserves a demotion and some humbling.

Ego is part of what got us into this mess.

True AD Mk's ego is the only reason  jeff is still coaching  here.

Not necessarily true.  It could also be that there is no benefit to firing someone in the middle of the season unless you have a good replacement ready to go.  At this point I am hoping there is some miracle to tie up the UCF series if the team still cares by then.

I mean firing the DC last year and letting bowers run the defense  worked wonders for one game. Who says sending a message to the players we are not giving up on you and bringing in a coach to improve the coaching would not help ?

Only part of the ego problem. It goes WAAAYYYY farther back than Kelly's ego.

Leaders tend to have confidence because that's how they got there.  The question is getting a feel for what to do and when.  It's not necessarily an ego problem.

I don't disagree. Ego is a great attribute, until it's not.

Agreed!  That's the bummer about the whole thing.  In a way you have to somehow strive to be objective with yourself...
