The NCAA has officially recognized UCF's national championship last season in the record book, ending the debate among college football fans.

'Nuff said.

That Yahoo writer is just as clueless as that ********, Helwig. The NCAA never recognized them as a national champion. To further clarify from that record book:

2017
Alabama: College Football Playoff, AP, FW-NFF,
USA Today
+UCF: Colley

+Beginning in 2014, the College Football
Playoff was used to determine national champions
in FBS.
All “major selectors” not otherwise
listed also selected the CFP champion
as its higest ranked team in those seasons.
In years where a “major selector” had a team
other than the CFP champion as highest
ranked team in its final poll that team is listed
below the CFP Champion.

For the first time I hundred percent agree with Triple B.

Were they snubbed from a spot in the CFP? Even that is a stretch to claim.

That season, I believe, they had a game against Ga Tech that was postponed due to a hurricane. That game was never rescheduled. During the regular season, I don’t believe they beat a P5 conference team. In the bowl game, they beat a team that most likely had all the players either sit out to transfer or be draft ready. Post season bowl game are dumb, the CFP ruined that fun part of college football.

Two things are clear from watching CFP selection:

1. Any G5 team before this upcoming season had to have two undefeated seasons in a row to maybe be included

2. There needs to be almost no undefeated P5 teams to facilitate a G5 team being selected

Them being snubbed is almost as laughable as them declaring themselves national champions ...... and they did beat a bad Maryland team as their only P5 win that meant anything. Also, that was back before sitting out meaningless bowl games for your personal future became fashionable ....... but to anyone with a lick of common sense you know most of their hearts were somewhere else for that game considering what they felt they could have been playing for.

Disagree about the bowl games, though. The ones with no bearing on a national championship have always just been fun, meaningless exhibition games and still are.

Seems like, judging by this list, only 6 teams from ACC would be left.

Also, 8 teams added from B12.

wonder what happens to Ok stat, t tech, Kansas, k state in this scenario.

Sportskeeda's Farouk Yusuf believes that ambitions to expand into the Florida market...

Miami the most likely Florida school the Big Ten will add

It won't be FSU that the Big Ten will add if/when the ACC falls apart. Instead, it will most likely be Miami for one simple reason: AAU accreditation.
