FSU sure complains a lot about their choice to be in the ACC and take slightly less money. (I know the gap will be getting larger)

Yea, their model from the Osceola Project or whatever estimates the new conference in 2026 to be paying over $70MM. I think their primary complaint isn't about past revenues (although that's their legal complaint, the conflict of interest with Raycom), but more so the length of the existing deal. SEC/B1G new deals will be escalating to $70-80MM just in TV, whereas the ACC by 2030 will be around $35/40MM, plus ACCN will bring total to like $50/55MM. Add in the other payouts, and FSU will be at a deficit of say $25-30MM/year to those they see as peers athletically. It makes sense, but will the cost to exit the ACC justify the increased revenue? My guess is no, unless they wait until closer to 2030 to break.

It will be really interesting to see how lopsided the ACC's performance payouts will be, as well as the additional ACCN revenue from the Cali/Texas additions. What if the ACC is paying out $60MM/year by 2030? Would you pay $130MM+, say, another $100MM to exit the ACC to earn $20MM-$40MM/year more? Would certainly make sense if the B1G/SEC payouts are $95MM+ come that time.

It's also projected that the CFP contract, if the revenue distribution remains constant, will more than double the current payout ($6MM) to over $14MM, PER P4 SCHOOL. That's insane to think. There's a good chance B12 and ACC schools are making $50-$65MM in distributions within the next 3-4 years, where they're currently $41-$45.

Wow is this guy reliable? Surprises me though that the Big 10 would want Virginia. That would be great news since the ACC losing 4 teams would increase our chances.

He's a Big12 fanboy, so there's that.

No he is not. If anything, ACC will cherry pick from big 12 if they lose all those teams. So he better be careful what he wishes for

It's sad really that he most likely won't be around to see if his prediction comes true or not.

I don't think it would make enough money to make the cross country trip worthwhile for USF and UConn.

It also seems likely that if the PAC 2 are stuck as demoted G5 teams, they will only rebuild with the full MWC. The scheduling agreement makes it expensive for the PAC 2 to add only some MWC teams instead of all of them. And so if they're forced to take all 12, that puts the new PAC at 14 which is plenty big. No need to expand further.

100% yes. Anything to get out of this **** hole conference

I would hope it is something we would consider. Lets say WSU, OSU, Boise State, UNLV, San Diego  State, Fresno State, Colorado State, USF, Tulane, Memphis, ECU,UTSA Navy, Army, and Air Force.  Not a bad conference in my opinion, both basketball and football. Loads better than our current situation, and would at the very least be Power 5 light.

Also I believe travel costs will be of set since I believe that Boise State, Air Force, and San Diego State will draw much better than Tulsa, Rice, North Texas and Charlotte.  And how much longer is flying to Boise compared to Tulsa? Also I imagine a road trip to Las Vegas will be much more fun than a road trip to Tulsa.  Be in the top 3 in this conference, and you are probably ranked. Win the conference and you are going to the playoffs

Also look at all the Mountain West teams that have been ranked in men's basketball. Many dropped out, but many are still NCAAT bubble teams

Don't see U Conn going though since they are happy in the Big East.

Personally I would love to see us in a new Pac.

The tricky part is that pulling only 6 MWC teams like in your proposed lineup is that it would cost the PAC $67.5M in penalty fees to the MWC if it takes exactly 6 team instead of 0 fees if it takes all 12. And then the 6 teams taken would also have to pay their own exit fees to the conference.

Oregon State and Washington State would face eight-figure penalties if...

This is why I can't see the new PAC being a mix of MWC and AAC. The PAC 2 are either trying to find a P4 home, or merging with the MWC and likely not including anyone else.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
