I think he had left UConn off of a list of the highest athletic budgets among the have-nots/expansion candidates and made a claim that Memphis was a big candidate because of theirs.

Yup. I was around the time when just about everyone thought big 12 was going to be able to invite UConn but that all fell apart lol

Does anyone know why the Big 12 deal with UConn fell apart? Curious to know how that same issue might scuttle a potential ACC expansion to include UConn.
