Yeah I guess it means PAC 12 is not interested. Looks like SMU and probably some big 12 schools will be targeted by PAC12

I can promise you that's not what it means lol they're gonna need Southern California but for some reason have decided they need to lock down their media deal before sending invites.

Or San Diego State received the Pac invite, but then were approached by the AAC, and now they want to keep their options open?

I think SDSU is a lock. But I think until their media deal is completed, they won’t vote on adding anyone. At the end I think SDSU will negotiate with MWC and get out for 20-25 millions. The reality will be that neither SDSU nor MWC would want it to drag on and have them stay until 2024-25 season. Specially since MWC will be working on their new tv deal and would need to have their replacement aboard.

It must mean SDSU chose the SEC over the pac12 because the SEC needs a California market. I read this on twitter.

They can target whoever they want but no Big 12 school is going to the PAC, that would be suicidal.
