This is only true if you remove UT and OU.

If the pickings are really that slim for expansion candidates, one would think that it would be wise to take the best of whats available before another conference does.

The B12 in its current form is the old BigEast, the anomaly of the major conferences due to the lower number of teams.  Maintaining a low number makes them extremely vulnerable if even a single other team defects.

Yes but what other conference is considering expansion (at least as far is publicly known)? I suppose there's a small risk the PAC-12 might be interested in UH, but other than that the Big XII can sit back and wait things out, unfortunately.

Miami & V Tech

That would be the OLD-Old BigEast, not the Old-BigEast. :)

Look for SMU and Rice to leak that they are no longer under consideration for B12 membership. UCF hasn't been told yet but it's coming.

Again, he probably doesn't know 1 true fact about the situation... but it's just nice to see the UCF fading away in the conversation.

Some UCF'er probably peed in his cereal.  I don't see why they would eliminate UCF.  MHver3 loves him some UCONN even though I think they are a long shot due to location but what do I know.

They are in no way comparable in national or historical perspectives.

Yeah the top half of the conference could be elite. There's always going to be that one conference that has an off year, but if OU and UT leave the Big12 doesn't look very powerful; especially sitting at 8.
