Jim, USF does have a similar agreement with HCC, SPC, and PHCC.

Beat me to it. I think every state school has a similar agreement (formal or informal) in place for their surrounding Community Colleges.

And USF Lakeland had one with Polk CC back in the day - used it myself to get my AA then went into IT at USF-Lakeland.

48-64 teams would never happen because of the increased games (more injuries) and the regular season would be meaningless, etc... I'd love to see a 16 team playoff, but I think it will max out at 8 teams.

The FCS has 24 teams (8 teams get 1st round byes) ... and a total of 5 rounds... The winner will play 16 or 17 total games (if one of the unseeded teams makes it through).

Not sure why it would be such an issue for the FBS when it's not for the FCS...

Also, the regular season would not be meaningless... winning a conference would still be important for at least 5 of the teams... and strength of schedule would be important for the at large slots as well as the seeding of teams.

Not that I am advocating a large field... I think 8 makes the most sense.  5 P5 champions, the top G5 champion or Notre Dame (whichever is higher), and 2 at large from anywhere... or add 4 more at large slots to have a field of 12 with 4 first round byes... (the same as the NFL)

Come on, we all know the P5 is much more concerned about academics than the FCS schools...

That article is from 2011, is that agreement still in place? Just wondering because a lot can change in 4 years.

They had the agreement with HCC back in the 90s.  I know because I transferred from HCC to USF under it.

Ever wonder why they put BRAILLE at the drive-in teller at a bank?

1) It's easier and less expensive than manufacturing separate keys for walk-up and drive-thru ATM's. Corporations are all about lowering costs.

2) Autonomous cars are on the near-term horizon so there will actually be some blind "drivers" using them.

Welp... You entirely missed the point... Expansion is not about what happened in the past 2-3 years in one sport... it's about the OVERALL picture... and academics is part of that picture... as are things like softball and tennis... and the endowment.
