You just hope these new data points feed into the coaching algorithm for future games.  Even in the NFL now I keep seeing teams every week march all the way down the field and win in one minute.

completely agree. if he is learning from it, I'm ok. He did give the game away last year against memphis in similar fashion and temple.

Hindsight is always 20/20. No matter what was called, it was going to be a bad call if it didn’t work. It was there on 3rd down but Mangham stumbled so no real problem with tweaking it a bit and trying again. Something else may or may not have worked but we’ll never know. All we do know is that didn’t work so is open to second guessing.

I thought this, too.  If we get the 1st down after a timeout and execution of the exact same play, CJS is a genius.   Same with the fake FG if it works.

He is our QB right now and I sincerely hope he improves and is the QB for another 3 years but floating around 50% completion isnt going to get this team anywhere.

I'm guess a play action pass to a TE or a quick slant off play action will result in a higher completion percentage. not only that but it would send the signal that the coach has confidence in our QB

nah you can get good results from a bad play call just like you can get bad results from a good play call.

we almost used it as much in one game as Sean Payton has used it in 3 years....oh and it's obvious it's going to be a run.

New Orleans has only shown the wildcat concept four times since 2018. Each time, Kamara has kept the ball and run it.

The play comes and goes and then comes again. Each time the Saints run a wildcat play, it sparks imagination and wonderment. When will Sean Payton use it next? Is a...

Was thinking Taysum Hill when he came in for Brees.

Are you thinking they would pass to that TE that has the dropsies?

Taysum Hill is a QB though.

Honestly if he even put another back in the backfield and ran a read option with Mangham it would have been better.

This isn't 10 years ago when ricky williams would surprise a defense.

it's pretty easy to stop especially if your RB is 7 yards deep and there are no other options but for him to run the ball.

Here is an excerpt from an article

When teams do run it these days, it’s usually rare, unexciting, and inefficient. Now, the Wildcat is often an indicator that a team has run out of ideas.

The fad that took over college football and even crashed the NFL died out, but something similar remains.
