Won again today to split the series and end season 14-14 and 6th in conference.   They will play Wichita State on Tuesday in first round of conference tourney probably around 8 in Clearwater.

That’s two big confidence wins heading into the conference tournament.

In all fairness, ECU threw 5 or 6 pitchers today.  Not sure what their line up looked like.  But still.nice finish to the season.  Now lets go win a couple in the tourney.

Bulls open conference tournament as #6 seed. Will face Wichita State in first game. Tourney is double elimination and all games are on ESPN+ except championship which is on ESPN News

Seeding is set for the 2021 American Athletic Conference Baseball Championship, to be held May 25-30 at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Fla.

Don’t believe we used our top pitchers in this game either.

I like the seeding for USF in this tournament being in the bracket with Tulane, Wichita and Houston.

It means Jasiak is the real deal. But some of the young hitters have also been showing real signs this season. Redshirt freshman Carmine Lane is leading the team at .337 with team-best 35 RBI. True fresh Matt Ruiz is third at .270 with a team-leading 13 doubles. Redshirt soph Roberto Pena leads the team with 10 homers and 23 extra base hits. Redshirt frosh Daniel Cantu is hitting .260 and is third on the team with 29 RBI. And freshman Drew Brutcher was hitting .295 with 7 homers before he mysteriously disappeared from the lineup in mid April. So, it’s a young lineup that’s showing some signs we can build around for a couple of years.

Thanks for the recap and it sounds like we are trending upward, if they develop too quickly then they most likely get drafted though, right?

That’s right. We get them for only three years, then off to the minors.

Oh so if they go to a four year college then they have to stay for three years? If so that’s not that bad I just assumed they could be one and dones since baseball let’s you draft 12 year olds.

They have to complete their Junior or Senior year or be 21 if they attend a 4 year college
