I think it's ridiculous to advertise this game on a medium that's not even available in the area.  It sure ain't on RoadRunner or Verizon DSL, which probably accounts for 90% of the bay area coverage.

I sent a note to Chris Lahey, Gen Mgr of ESPN Regional, asking for outlets or ISPs that actually carry ESPN360 (no response yet).  If anybody can tell us, you'd think it would be them!  The contact info:

Hell...You'd think there'd be some kind of "cyber cafe" or something with the right broadband hookup that we could raid for a watch party  :-/

I just emailed ABC Sports and ESPN on their main websites.  Now I'm contacting the people Jim mentioned. >:(

never understand why games aren't televised locally

what a waste

the fan base would grow sooner than later with local tv

doesn't usf have a tv station

So according to this, out of the 4 Big East road games we have left, only 1 will be televised?  That's terrible!

TV contract leaves a lot to be desired this year.  I know that being in a more visible league leaves you at the mercy of the networks to a certain extent, but to have so few road games covered...this will be like the first few I-AA seasons.  Everyone gather 'round the radio.

Might as well be D1AA in this regards.  ESPN is such a BigTen brown nose network.  10 of 11 BigTen schools' games will be broadcast on Oct. 15 including IN at IA at noon on the U.  That's BS and not fair.  BTW, its 8 outa 11 this weekend and they never play during the week either.

Doug, you are right to complain, but consider this...

How many Big East stadiums hold 100,000?? Zero.

How many Big Ten stadiums hold 100,000?? Three: Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State.

The Big Ten has more fans, which means more people will watch them play.

For ESPN it's all about the ratings.

Who wants to watch a Cincinnati vs Pitt game this week outside of Cincinnati and Pittsburgh ??

Jim, your arguem't needs more detail.  You are talking TV market vs people in a stadium.  With more butts in stad seats that's less to watch TV.  Plus we are talking Pittsburgh & Tampa Bay TV markets.  Yes I know all of Tampa won't watch the Bulls but FSU has an evening game, UM is @Temple, & I don't know about UF.  This game should be a 12pm ESPN GP game.

UPDATE...

i heard back from my contact...

This topic has been bounced all over the university today, and nobody seems to have a clear answer as to whether or not we can get it. An administrator from the Residence Services is meeting with the cable guys today and supposed to find out. I’ll let you know something as soon as possible.

There may be hope yet, although slim.   I'll keep everyone informed.
