Why is Rideau not playing?

Foot injury. May be done for the season.

Thx. Looks like the foot is the issue but hearing he is sitting until tournament...hope he is back by then

He has a stress reaction in the foot that he broke a bone in during the summer of 2017. Basically an overuse injury. He may be done for the season. I know a runner who had a stress reaction in his tibia. He was in a walking boot for three weeks. Then limped around for another two weeks before he started running again.

Another kind of toss of game coming up to finish the regular season against SMU (especially if no Rideau).  Hopefully we can find a way to win a close game.

A 20 win season would be a really nice accomplishment for our program and something to really build on.

Most of our conference wins have been close. I wouldn't expect any other kind.  Even yesterday with a 14 or 16 point lead inside of 5 minutes we let the pressure get to us and wound up winning by only 5.

Hopefully home court and chance to get to 20 will push the guys to get it done.

It would really be a shame if we failed to hit that 20 win marker.

You had made a comment before that they seem like they are getting "tired".  It kind of appeared that way to me towards the end of that game last night too.......Hopefully they can "tough" out the remaining season.

Yes, you are correct...this will have to be a “tough it out game.” We have to remember that this is the most games many of these kids have played at such a high level. It has to wear on them if they are not used to it. Plus I bet many have a variety of bumps and bruises that they are dealing with. Would love to see two more wins and any type of tourney invite though.

Does this mean it is time to start a "hire a new strength and conditioning coach for MBB" thread?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
