Great article.  However, I made many of the same points last night on the following thread and got blasted by some so called Bulls fans.  I didn't sweat it though.  Why should I the truth is the truth.  Go Bulls!

CHICKIPOOS!!!

I understand the frustration.  I would be mad too, if in 17 years the University of West Florida (or name another non-football university in Florida) starts a football program and is in a better conference than we are.

...USF has yet to prove anything.

Man, I'm going to get a repetitive stress injury for cut-n-pasting this so much. ;)

UCF wins over I-A teams with a winning record

1997 Toledo (9-2) (#31 in ESPN when UCF played them)

1998 @Toledo (7-5)

2001 UAB (6-5)

2002 @ Miami, OH (7-5)

To sum up, that's 4 wins over I-A teams with a winning record for UCF in last 9 seasons since UCF went I-A in 1996.

USF's wins over I-A with a winning record

2001 @Pitt (6-5 and won the Tangerine Bowl)

2002 N. Illinois (8-4)

2002 @N. Texas (7-5 and won the N.O. Bowl)

2002 So. Miss (7-5 and lost the Houston Bowl)

2002 #25 Bowling Green (9-3) (ESPN #25 at the time USF played them)

2003 Louisville (9-3 and lost the GMAC Bowl)

2003 @Memphis (8-4 and won the N.O. Bowl)

2004 @UAB (7-4 and lost the Hawai'i Bowl)

To sum up, that is 8 wins over I-A teams with a winning record for USF in the last 4 seasons since USF went I-A in 2001.

So, USF has won twice the I-A teams with a winning record games in half the time as UCF.

It's a different time.  I think we're the only school in the country to go from Division III to Divion IA.  Now everyone's doing it.  FAU and FIU must be powerhouses like USF.

FAu and FIU are in garbage conferences, just like ucf.  Apples and oranges.

Can't wait for the game...until then, smack away.

I do have a question about the indoor facility...wasn't it designed with the idea of playing teams in the MAC who all have crappy, fake turf?  Does it really provide any benefits at this point outside of 1. Getting in when it's a little too rainy so the team doesn't catch a cold and 2. Being sure Coach Pigleary doesn't have to sweat?

Seriously, I haven't looked at the UCF schedule all the way through but do they play anyone with bad fake grass?  Is the facility really that big of a deal.  I mean I could see some benefit for us since we play indoors at Syracuse but somebody enlighten me here.

Go Bulls...beat UCF.

The fact is UCF and USF are in a frantic race to see which one can escape the massive shadow of the Big 3 and someday become part of the Big 4.

I agree with this and this game would be a small step in that direction.

USF has L'ville, Miami, and the rest of the BE schedule . . .

Go BULLS !!!

Artificial turf considerations had nothing to do with its construction.  The indoor facility was built because we were losing multiple practices due to lightning storms.  Orlando is the #2 lightning storm capital of the world, because the Gulf and Atlantic sea breezes collide over hot earth in Polk, Osceola, Orange and Seminole Counties during the summer.

We gained 9 pre-season practices this year alone because of that facility.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
