Coming into the game, Laura was averaging just 0.3 points a game less than Kit, but with better percentagewize.

Kit was      16/47 fg/fga  .340 ;  7/21 3fg/3fga .333;    10/14 ft/fta .714

Laura was 17/30 fg/fga .567;    5/13 3fg/3fga .385;     9/11 ft/fta .818

It really isn’t surprising, how Laura’s numbers shot up with Kit not on the floor.

Laura seems like she's been here forever.  It has been really cool to see her game develop from her freshman year to now.  She' can flat out ball now and I think she's capable of putting the team on her back.  Love her game and leadership.  She gets at it.

I get that feeling too. Kinda like Auggie was with football.

There was a point early in the OU game where the ladies were down and she took her teammates on the court with her aside and ripped them a new one. They have her their undivided attention and you could tell they have the utmost respect for her. Shes a great leader.

We know this team is good. They have been for years under CJF...but are they good enough to be a premier program? If you haven't noticed yet, there's a huge difference between the top teams in women's basketball and everyone else (Ex: the 102-24 wins -- you usually don't see this in men's basketball except the #1 ranked team vs the #350 team). We are the rare in-between team. We are good enough to go 28-3 this season but still lose twice to UCONN and to another big name team in UCLA on the road (recent win over #16 Georgia). But how far does that 28-3 take us in the tournament when we finally match up against one of the power teams of women's basketball (ND, UCONN, Oregon, Baylor, Louisville, etc). We can have a fantastic season against the "have-nots" of women's basketball, but we need to turn the corner as a program and take advantage of any opportunity to play one of the powerhouses and finally get one of those "program defining" victories. We all know we can beat every other team in the conference minus UCONN...but it's time we break the losing streak and beat UCONN.

Because all the other top programs you are speaking about handle UConn, right?  Until Geno decides to retire UConn will be nearly impossible for us to handle.

Laura was just as talented as a freshman, however injury/playing while injured hampered her shooting in the following years.  If “Grandma” isn’t hamperd by Plantar Faciitus again she will be a force to be recond with.

I never argued she wasn't... but she's definitely developed her game since then.  That's all I was pointing out, I know she was talented as a freshman.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
