The biggest benefit of making a bowl game, non national championship, is the extra practice time the team gets, about a month more than non bowl teams.  UCF lost over half of their practices last year due to weather, this year UCF has not missed a day.

How many practices has USF missed so far this year?

USF doesn't have as bad of a lightning problem as Central Florida, I don't think.  That's something beyond our control.

Oh no, Dawg you better step in right now.  This is not pretty and you have to see the trainwreck coming.

I suggest deleting this entire thread, and the one inquiring about my opinion of our game.  They're just disasters waiting to happen.

They both are, but other than a blip here or there, the wreck has yet to occur.

I guess my optimism is telling me that it won't come to me axing the thread.

Basicly, Trip, stop trying to goad STK.  Do that elsewhere.  STK, stop trying to pick a fight with everyone.

the coast of fla dont get the # of thunderstorms that orlando does.  I live on Merritt island... we get em... but at most 1//2 the number my daughter does in east orange county.

Check out this report.

On page 15, shows infrared picture of the most common striking pts for lightning in FLA.

Looks like some parts of Tampa and Orlando are at the top of the list...but yes, maybe Orlando has more "thunderstorms" because of the Gulf-Atlantic Breezes colliding over Orlando...but not necessarily more lightning strikes.
