While looking for pool stuff at Walmart today, I happened to see former Bucs coach Tony Dungy. I intro'd myself and he is a very cordial man. He asked me, seeing I was wearing USF garb, how I thought we'd do in the BIG EAST this year? Of course I said great and he said he wishes us the best. He also said he looks at the scores often during season to see how we have done. I told him good luck on his upcoming season, shook hands and parted ways. Very nice guy and evidently a closet Bull supporter.    Reaper

I hold Dungy and LeeRoy up at the same level. Couldn't ask for two finer human beings from the world of football ...

Tony Dungy is a great man, and a very good coach.

I'll never forget the time I asked to interview the coach and he called me at my house during his lunch break. Pretty cool seeing Tampa Bay Bucs show up on the caller ID.

I met Coach Dungy while I was giving blood.  It was in a "blood bus" in front of, coincidentally enough, the Walmart in Carrolwood.  We were across from each other.  This was when he was still coaching the Bucs, when Trent Dilfer was the QB.  I had a great conversation with him.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
