Seems like this summer would have been a good time to do it. I see GT and Temple just signed home and home. We have an opening for 2019, 2021 (2 openings), 2022, 3 openings in 2023, and more. Some of these other teams are scheduling games 10 years out (I think it was Wisconsin and UCLA)

Much of that success, I presume, is due to those schools wanting to recruit the Philadelphia area: ...Georgia Tech is the fourth Atlantic Coast Conference member school to agree to a home-and-home series with the 2016 American Athletic Conference champions. The other three ACC schools are Boston College, Duke and Miami. ...The addition of the Georgia Tech series gives Temple Football 18 non-conference games against Power 6 conference schools through the 2028 season. Temple will play at least one non-conference Power 6 school in each of the next nine seasons starting with the 2017 opener at Notre Dame (Sept. 2). Temple also has future home-and-home series scheduled with Oklahoma (Big 12), Maryland (Big 10) and Rutgers (Big 10). http://www.owlsports.com/news/2017/8/30/temple-and-georgia-tech-schedule-home-home-football-series.aspx The old BE teams who joined the ACC now play UM and FSU and therefore have no real need to schedule USF for recruiting. Similarly, we should focus more of our efforts on scheduling P5 schools who want to recruit Florida, but who don't have any such teams in their conference. For example, since both UCLA and Oregon are now recruiting Florida much more than in the past, they might be amenable to a future home and home series. Harlan was previously at UCLA and Taggart is now at Oregon. So, it seems pretty obvious that those schools should be contacted to discuss a possible future series. The problem for USF with scheduling the PAC, of course, is the cross country travel involved. Yet, in spite of that, we did make a series with SJSU. So, I assume we would be willing to schedule some PAC teams on a one to one basis. Temple is in a much better position than USF to schedule OOC, because they don't have many schools in their area to compete with for such games. P5 schools can choose between USF, UCF, FIU and FAU, which gives them even more bargaining power to schedule to their advantage. Thus, when we wanted to get a series with Texas, we agreed to a "2 for 1" deal. Plus, a P5 school seeking to schedule an OOC series in Florida might prefer to choose a school where it felt it had the best chance of winning and that could leave USF from even being considered.
