Depth Chart 8/28 Stony Brook

A few changes. Most glaring is that Chris Barr is still #1 in the slot.  I just dont get it.

I think the depth chart is viewed too critically. I don't think it means as much as you think it means honestly.

I don't like having Norman and Mayes at the Tackle positions, especially with Atterbury on the bench

It seems like it's only good for the starting drive. Everything changes up from there, so it's more like a nod to who's starting.

Maybe Barr is a practice stud and Strong wants to give a few more tries. Looks like it's all mental/nerves. I'm rooting for him to get it together

He's supposed to be one of the if not the fastest guy on the team.  If he could put it all together he could be a big time weapon.   CCS and company are probably hoping that giving him these chances to gain some confidence in real game situations could lead to a breakthrough mentally for him.  Adams used to have very similar issues early in his time at USF but then he put it all together and was electric for us.   It's not unusual for us to run 4 wide either so there's plenty of slot reps to go around these first couple games while we get Antoine healthy and will likely have lots of garbage time....

It would be kind of dumb to shower all the praise publicly on McCants, plus his blocking ability in a run first oriented team, and then not give him the majority of snaps.  Who knows what is going on behind the scenes, but I am not sure what Barr brings to the field.
