Former USF football player Brian Fisher turned himself in at the Orient Road Jail in Tampa on two outstanding warrants for failing to appear at required court dates. He was released on $17,000 bond three hours later. His missed court dates were arraignments on two separate felony arrests in February for habitually driving with a suspended license. The 22-year-old running back, the Bulls' offensive MVP in 2003, has not attended USF since spring 2004 and spent the past year at Hillsborough Community College.

You complain about a Schaeffer or a Brumbaugh post being on this board, but feel the need to post more about Fisher. That's pretty funny.

Fisher is a former athlete, and some would still like him to come back to the team. I have no knowledge of the two people you mention having any real ties with USF beyond being a potential recruit. There is another board for potential recruits, it is called the Prospects & Potential Recruits board. Perhaps you have heard of it...

The demand that any discussion of potential recruits be put on another board is ridiculous.  There comes a point where specialization is overused...

I think ET is the one who championed the creation of a specific board for that purpose. I didn't agree with it, but since the board is now set up that way the recruiting posts have a place where they belong, a "Mad Cow Lounge" for recruit-nik's if you will.

In a way I'm glad, because now that we have moved into a BCS/high major conference the recruiting game is much more speculative and more of the information is going to turn out to be junk. (case in point: Brumbaugh)

****... Brian Fisher paid a $17,000 bail... wouldn't have been easier for him to just to goto court? Hopefully we'll see him back this year on the field! Thugs rule... especially 5'6" thugs! You gotta love the little guys!

Terry, he's worn out his welcome at USF, and with CJL. No chance here to play again!

FWIW: The Prospects and Potential Recruits Board is and was named such to facilitate talk on prospects and potential recruits.  E.T. was posting information on high school kids that may never even appear on a Bulls offer sheet or have any interest whatsoever in the Bulls - a very macro look.

We do not have to have the hard rules that something go on a specific board, but in the case of high school positional talent, I think you will agree with me that is only distantly related to USF Athletics.  It was reporting on high school athletes for future use.

While I wouldn't care to read Fisher's latest adventures, it would be sensible to locate it on the main board.  As well as Brumbaugh and Schaeffer - since neither are simply prospects or potential recruits...Both have been or are being recruited.  Certainly not at the prospect stage and both are at a stage where only their decision stands between being a Bull and another one that got away.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
