Reap...you sound a li'l like "Chicken Little".  Erickson hasn't left and give Woolard the benefit of the doubt of the new hire's capability.  Sometimes I think this board gives off the virus, "Changeisbaditis".

It is women's softball and this is Florida.  USF will be able to put a competitive team on the field.  Now consecutive NCAA appearances is another issue.

I would think it would be difficult to hire a coach with a proven track record of success from another program if we don't have adequate facilities.  If I were either Eriksen or a coach, I'd make a promise for upgrades part of my contract.

On a side note, if Erickson can win with poor facilities, why can't Cardieri   Kinda makes you think that it's not the facility.

Explain to me what Erickson has won that Cardieri hasn't?

This old argument again.

Maybe we should tear down the new football facilities b/c obviously facilities have nothing to do with fielding a successful program.

Then again....the football team did start losing when we moved into the new building.....hmmm...... ;)

Didn't I see Coach E is a USF grad.  Going to coach at Florida would be a travesty with that in mind.  And why Arizona...you can't even sweat out there.

TAMPA - University of South Florida softball coach Ken Eriksen, who has guided the Bulls to the past three NCAA Tournaments, is being pursued for vacant positions at Florida and Arizona State.

I have officially launched the Ken Eriksen smear campaign in Tempe, AZ.   Not really.

If he wants to go, let him.  I think this is a great opportunity to decide who - like Woolard, Leavitt and McCullum - are here to build an oustanding overall program and who is not.  Eriksen has voiced his concerns and complaints.  His ego may be a bit overinflated, but if he is meant to be here he will gut it out and be here for the new conference, new facilities and maybe a softball championship.

We need to realize we can't yet compete (and may never) with those other programs in terms of salaries and beneifts, not to mention facilities.  We need coaches that realize that and are committed to South Florida and to winning.  If it comes down to salary - he's gone.  We'll never pay what UF pays a softball coach.  If it comes down to current facilities - he's gone.

Woolard did the right thing....he will soon find out if Eriksen is commited to Woolard's plan for the future of USF Athletics...or not.

I remember an old article (I dont know who wrote it or when) but I remember Erikson would leave only if something wasnt done soon to the facilities, and since it has already been aproved I dont believe he is going anywhere...

bye bye erikson

a great coach will recruit and get his team to win

poor facilities is an excuse

uf ,fsu and ftu/ou/oc don't play in yankee stadium

in football we had no facilities

usf fans love to have plenty of excuses for their  teams failures

the coaches need to recruit better talent  and coach that talent

it is that simple

Counselor, "is or isn't" - could you please clarify your statement?  Thank you.

Not Yankee Stadium, but pretty nice for softball fields.
