Atlanta Bull Posted March 1, 2017 Group: Member Topic Count: 161 Content Count: 560 Reputation: 38 Days Won: 1 Joined: 01/02/2010 Share Posted March 1, 2017 Thinking P5/ESPN Mafia will continue to try everything in their power to keep AAC/G5 a distant second. When does ESPN stop showing/paying for G5 football to make up for the revenue shortfall? Does YouTube or whoever pay for G5 football to make up the revenue? Probably but they will have leverage to pay less since they are tossing G5 a life preserver. The comment about HD is big too. Pretty hard to watch non HD anymore unless you get a rush out of saving money watching blurry images. Bottom line stays the same: keep winning, playing exciting football to watch (ie offense) and win championships. Then hope a B12 or ACC school does something so scandalous to its players and or female students that a school finally gets a death penalty (as a result of a mountain of expensive lawsuits against school and NCAA) and USF is first in line to get back to the big boy table.

Maybe with this news, our DirecTv costs will start falling. I'm with you at least on the sports channels/HD. I love DirecTv, but not the price so much. Only real reason I have it is for college football and NFL Sunday Ticket. I did just get a good bundle price for AT&T fiber and DirecTv recently, so it's at least made me happy for now. If YouTubeTV offers a Sunday Ticket package ... so long, DTV.

As long as we're in the Bay area we're with Spectrum, as long as they don't do away with BayNews 9. If we do move, do the sat companies like DTV have good dvr capabilities. For the streaming crowd, are there viable ways to record programs, dvr-like?

You considering a move? DirecTv's DVR system is very good. You get a pretty good amount of space, it's easy to set up and prioritize your shows and the playback is pretty seamless. You know how "Video Killed the Radio Star"? More changes are coming.

I hear Pyongyang is nice this time of year. Plus, there's missile launches so you can feel more at home, reminding you of Cape Canaveral. The good thing is there's lots of Georgia besides Atlanta. The bad thing is there's lots of Georgia besides Atlanta.
