I wasn't saying they should have sold them...just thought it was a possiblity they couldn't resell the tickets. I think it's awesome usf is rewarding fans. I think they should do more to encourage people to use their tickets to all games. Maybe stuff like sideline passes, suite for a game etc.

Not all basketball fans translate to football fans. I'm sure they wanted to make sure it was someone who would really enjoy the game. Besides, anyone with perfect attendance for MBB deserves USF's equivalent to the Medal of Honor. or maybe...

In the case of the Sheffields, I believe they hold season tickets to men's and women's basketball.  Maybe even baseball.  The beauty of a diversified portfolio!
