Of course, Leavitt's time at South Florida came to an end because an investigation found he had struck a player in the locker room during a game against Louisville in 2009. Now, that's a giant black mark on Leavitt's resume, but it's been seven years since it happened, so it's not insane to believe he's "done his time" for an extremely unfortunate incident.

Not exactly the most fair characterization of the incident... investigation found he was less than honest with investigators - not sure anyone ever got to the bottom of what may or may not have happened in that locker room.

Wish him the best - hopefully he doesn't land at any school in Florida.

They found him to have "interfered" as I recall.  Not an "honesty" issue.  He spoke to Miller during investigation after being told not to.

That's really what got him. It's always the cover up afterwards, never the actual infraction that gets you.

Which one could call a coverup, he called it "Miler was outside his door".  Haven't read the report in at least 3 years, but you'll probably find that to be true.

And had he not been hung out to dry, the "afterwards" would have been well managed.

"We're not really sure how eager Taggart is to leave USF."

Just saying, the assumption is he leaves first P5 offer but I'm not so sure about that. This is the first article i have read that puts a transition in doubt for good reason.

I could see CJL taking the Colorado job of its vacated.

I think we we end up paying CWT more and extend him.

Colorado would still suck without him most likely.
