Yes, a player from IU a number of years ago did it when transferring to Ohio State (if I'm not mistaken) and I thought a former USF football player did it as well when transfering from USF to Maryland.

One year would/could be a redshirt yr in which only one yr's eligibility would be lost.

I don''t know about that... otherwise, what's to stop all transfers from using their sit-out season as a red-shirt leaving them with their full four years remaining?

Because in the transfer situation's case, they sit out TWO years.  So even with a redshirt, they lose one.

That is exactly the case, i believe... Look at Courtney Denson, he sat out last year and he redshirted right?

So he essentially played a year at auburn (on the bench), sat out a year (redshirt), now has 3 years left at USF.

Do you mean Lawrence Funderburke, the basketball player?

Funderburke wanted to transfer to UK, however, IU blocked that transfer and let him go to Ohio State-Bob Knights Alma Mater.

Yes, it is Funderburke.  Had to sit out 2 years when transferring.  Not sure if it was a Big 10 rule or because he wasn't released.

Interesting factoid......Funderburke currently resides in the Tampa area.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
