WMU and Boise at 23 and 24. Was interested to see where they would slot the G5s. Juat crazy to think an undefeated team with two P5 wins is only 23. BSU is in the same boat as us though so regardless of their ranking they need Wyoming to lose and win the CCG. This looks like it will be WMU's to lose.

NY6 takes the best 12 teams in the country?

No, they take the best 11, plus whatever G5 conference champion ranks highest.

If that G5 team is ranked less than #12, or worse, less than #25, do they still really belong there?

That seem fair to you?

The NY6 refers to the 2-semifinal games and 4 AQ bowl games. Essentially each P5 conference gets an AQ and the G5 gets one AQ. That G5 slot used to go to the Big East, but during the massive realignment break-up and the change to the Playoff system, they decided the highest ranked conference champion of the G5 would play an at-large bid.

If it's USF, then yes.

Also when you start going down the rabbit hole it is fair. Why should the #3 or #4 SEC team get to go to a NY6 bowl when the top G5 is undefeated or one loss? Don't forget the committee isn't exactly putting all ten conferences on the same level here.
