Remember the year we had to play off-campus during construction? Yeah, that's right. Away from the IBG we actually won most of our games...

The facilities are top-notch. The fan, season ticket holder, and donor support is not. The same issue with football is amplified even more with basketball. Just as Trips mentioned in his post, I thought that post-2012 and Sun Dome renovation, the support would be there. Putrid post-2012 basketball and chaos has killed that hope.

It wasn't the level of basketball, it's that the sustained level of interest just isn't there. The opening night for the new, improved Dome, following the NCAA "run", we had 7700 for the Kanigits. While great, relatively speaking, it should have been a lot closer to capacity all things considered. A week later had Fri and Sat night games and the attendance was cut in half for both. The "bump" lasted exactly one game ..... USFMBB is what it is.

Doesn't seem to be bothering softball or soccer, so as long as it's not on the sundome land, maybe we'll be ok

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
