Technically true, I guess. Although IMHO there is another issue: the chance to play enough ranked teams to move that far up. Take Baylor for example... the Big 12 is so far down this year, Baylor may not play ANY ranked teams... and certainly no Top 10 teams -- gonna be difficult to move into the Top 4 without a hell of a lot of help (like almost every current Top 20 team losing 2 games this year). 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I did miss those 4 teams, so I guess we are down to 58.. I am sure there are a few teams with weak schedules that will not reach the playoffs no matter what. I have not looked up schedules.
