The neighbors complained about how the traffic and lights would affect their community. It got nixed and now there's a Publix built on that site, with traffic coming in and out from 9 am to 10 pm, 7 days a week, with the parking lot lighted each night.Idiots.The good thing that may come from the delay is that now the appetite for the stadium has been whetted and, perhaps, you can get some more funding and put up something even nicer when it does get approved. Things will proceed as scheduled.

I was looking forward toward NOT getting my windshield kicked in next year while attending the 2006 game at UCF instead of citrus bowel.  If UCFers want to get a feel about how a neighborhood association or coalition can derail an outdoor venue project even after the fact, just look what a mess the Ford Amphitheater has become. Depsite getting built with the blessing of the county and following all proper protocol the Amphitheater is now trying to stave off a challenge to severely resrtict it's activities. Cyber, I work with an associate that lives 1 mile north of that venue. He and every kid that lives in that neighborhood can hear every four letter word sung and yelled at the crowd. Being in his front yard during a concert is like standing in the parking lot of RJS with only 20K in the stands. You hear every word the announce says. The sound engineers that built that revenue should be beaten like a red headed step child. It's a catastrophe.
