First three days of camp open to the public

TAMPA, JULY 29, 2016  – The USF Football team will open fall camp in preparation for head coach Willie Taggart’s fourth season and the 20th season in program history on Thursday, Aug. 4.

To commemorate the 20th season of the football program and the distance it has come in such a short time, USF will return to its roots and conduct its first camp practice of 2016 (Thursday, Aug. 4) on the orginal practice fields first used by the Bulls starting in 1996.  The fields, located on the east end of campus just north of the Bulls’ current Morsani Football Practice Complex, have been in use by the university’s intramural programs the last several years.

“We thought it would be a nice nod to the history of our program and how far it has come to begin practice for our 20th season on the fields where the program began,” Taggart said. “We are excited to get back to work and look forward to a lot of Bulls fans joining us during the first three days of camp.”

The first three days of USF’s fall camp will be open to the public, with fans encouraged to park in the Sycamore lot on the east end of campus near 50th street.  The Sycamore lot will give fans easy access to both of the Bull’s practice sites during the first three days.

The first three practices of fall camp, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, will run from 10 a.m. to noon. The Bulls will return to practicing on the Morsani Complex’s two immaculate Bermuda grass fields and one turf field beginning on Friday.
