I wonder if she plays tonight if she could cause more damage to her foot? Or, is it just something she, if she can stand the pain, she could play on. I know last night it seemed she could hardly walk on it.

I don't think she can do anymore damage to her foot since her plantar fascia is already torn. I think I remember this is what my CC coach told me at least. I ran half a season with plantar fasciitis, even though it was extremely painful. I'd just inject a cortisone shot in her foot and limit her minutes. If it's a blowout early on (it may be), then bench her.

Anyone else catch the post-game with Stringfield? That's the first time I've heard her speak, and I loved her attitude--very likable presence.

Yes ma'am.  Surprised how little she looked next to the announcers, must have been in a smaller chair.

Thought the same thing, but noticed she was not only hunched over a little, her chair was set back from the announcers. Did not hesitate with an enthusiastic "yes, MA'am!" when asked about the UConn game, so she's clearly chomping.

Courtney is the same way when interviewed with the "yes ma'am".  Very polite and team oriented.

We've spoken with a couple of dozen athletes over the years from various sports.  ALL of them were polite and answered with a "yes, sir", "yes, ma'am".  Someone - either their families or at USF - is doing a fine job with these kids.

We have had the same experiences with athletes from various men's and women's sports.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
