TAMPA, AUG. 6, 2015 â€“ USF Football got back to business under sunny skies Thursday morning and this group of Bulls is determined to shine brighter than any other in head coach Willie Taggart’s time with the program.

USF got off to a great start during the first preseason practice of the fall, going full steam ahead at the Morsani Football Complex. The up-tempo style of offense the Bulls implemented in the spring stole the show on Day 1 with quarterbacks Steven Bench and Quinton Flowers moving the group up and down the field...

I can't be alone in thinking this isn't all good news ...

It would be a bitter pill to swallow if O finally turns the corner and D was the problem but somehow I doubt that will be the case.

Defense shuts down offense no first downs allowed ...feel better now :)

I'm sure defense will look play better.

Up and down the field is fine. Out of the end zone is ideal. Less places for receivers to get open in the end zone.

You can see what Collin is talking about on Bench's throws. He tosses two back to back in the center pocket!

He's going to make a serviceable backup.

'Bull Sharks' Ready to Attack in New Defensive Look

By TOM ZEBOLD

USF Senior Writer

TAMPA, AUG. 7, 2015 â€“ USF’s up-tempo offense ruled Day 1 of fall camp, but the new-look defense bounced back with a vengeance Friday at the Morsani Football Complex.

Playing in the new 4-2-5 scheme, USF’s fast and furious defense swarmed ball carriers during team work that featured a pick-6 by senior linebacker Zack Bullock off a tipped pass at the line.

“This is a natural scheme for us,†senior defensive back Jamie Byrd said. “I feel like we don’t have to go out there and think as much. Everybody is just getting to the ball.â€

Love this bit:

“We go by ‘Bull Sharks.’ I feel like when we smell blood we’re going to attack. We’re going to let you know that,†Byrd said.

Also watching Auggie talk you can tell he has come into his own as a leader, which is great to see.
