I don't know where the appropriate place for this is, but I figured this was a large enough group of people that someone might have some input. I'm going to be taking the train from London to Paris and back in a couple weeks and was wondering if anyone had done it recently enough to answer a question or two.

I have done that trip before, but it's been a while. Last euro train trip was a month or two ago, though, so I am happy to offer advice if you need it.

Mainly, is it a direct shot from London to Paris? Or is it more commuter train until you get to the coast and then switch to something else and again on the other side?

If you do Eurostar, it's a straight shot city to city. Much better than flying. You could take a more circuitous route I'm sure but no real reason to.

Nah, just flying into London, want to shoot over to Paris for a few days, then back.

It's easier to take the train from London to Paris than drive to Tallahassee from Tampa for a USF/FSU game -- you'll be fine. Take St Pancras to Nord. Once you're in Paris, you can get around to the major spots by the RER.

Oh no.. not two whole months.

I'm pretty sure that is recently enough for the OP.

For the record I like many have never been to Europe.

Two months from last rail trip in Europe generally, which is not what he's asking. The London -> Paris route has a special organization running it.

JTrue, enjoy Paris. Way better than London.

This probably belongs in the Trough.  Have a good trip, JTrue.
