  1. We said the same thing about BJ at Seattle behind Wilson, and it almost looked like that was going to work out for him. In the end, they always seem to default to wanting a "pure" QB, and if the guy has wheels all the better. That's why I think Brady will be 55 and still dropping back for NE.
  2. It's tough to have a strong position on KB at this point, either way. All I can say is he's definitely seeing issues and being vocal about that, and being aware is the first step to building solutions. For those that remember, we HAVE had OCs that don't really seem to get it or don't seem to evolve, so patience is my prescription until it's clear what we have.
  3. very weird, he's their greatest asset and he's gonna sit by and let someone else start? I'm sure there's something we don't understand but if it's just straight up a personal decision and this is the future of CFB, just go ahead & call it the minors and detach from schools.
  4. Fair. Playmakers in practice don't always translate to playmakers in the game. Time & time again we learn this for the Bulls (and probably just about every other D1 team).
  5. A win. Secondary to that I want to see improvements (esp O line), but really if we get the win I think that comes as part of the deal.
  6. She's come into her own now, very comfortable in the game and after the game during interviews. Happy for her, she's a legit star in the league.
  7. Can't blame SMU for hitching their wagon to Dallas. I'd be interested to know how much Dallas would get behind the 'stangs, though. There's an awful lot of UT educational & fan relations around the greater Dallas area, as well as A&M. At least in Tampa we don't have a ton of physical school presence to compete with, just perceptions and an area starving to have a local winner. Tampa would have to put more into the relationship IMO. When I moved to Orlando in 2014, the area was pretty "meh" about the Knights aside from the area near campus. Now five years later, they have done well to build support both in papers, radio talk, and in community involvement. Tons of cars over here donning the "Orlando's home team" and similar support swag now.
  8. I'd love to see the kaniggits' foundations shaken by a loss in the "conflict", but I also don't want them to descend into despair before the Bulls serve them a slice of humble pie. That's what I want to see, anyway.
  9. The UCF game was good. They really should have won, but if there's any fanbase I enjoy seeing deflated...well done, Pitt!
  10. If we lose horribly to SMU, we might have to put it up in lieu of the football scoreboard header so that we can change the conversation to something other than nuclear waste.
  11. Was out last night, so thanks for posting link to game highlights. All I can say is WOW! Best comeback in a while and that Tulane QB/WR duo is a tactical nuke.Congrats to Tulane, reminds me of our old-school never-give-up teams. Hope we can get back to that.
  12. Contest winner sure okay--temporary honor for a t-shirt or weekend seminar print, but not for branding. It was horrible, good riddance. Italics Jack Links lives on!
  13. Love to hear/see she's kicking butt. Maybe the best all-around WBB player we had at USF.
  14. Love that these guys seem to be pretty close-knit, and KJ looks like a great addition to the family. Cred to the heads-up deflection from the one interviewer, laughing is a great break-up to being broken up.
  15. So much more than football in that alignment decision. Whether it should have JUST been about football is probably a good debate.
  16. JM a RSF so who really knows after one game, but he doesn't seem to rattle easily. He certainly doesn't look the type to completely crumble under pressure. BB has come close a couple of times, though, which is why the kid's in the game to begin with.
  17. Who is this Bye that you speak of, what channel will The Bye be on and should we fire CCS because of this Bye? You don't know Bye? That's sometimes our toughest adversary! Unfortunately never televised though...
  18. I really wish you had ended your reply before that last sentence. Comparing any coach to CJL is getting really tired for me. It was a different time, different players, different situation-- it is simply history. And don't get me started talking about the reasons they canned Leavitt or even the comparisons of his conference results. Please. I'm begging you. Yeah definitely a polarizing topic. Sorry for the inadvertent click bait, but CJL was brought into it a few posts earlier. The Jim is awesome, but even back to what some consider our golden years, we had significant problem areas that he was unable to cover.
  19. wow -- you are a diehard supporter then. I guess we might as well support the guy seeing as he isn't going anywhere soon because his contract has us shackled to him apparently. I'm not a fan of his methods or whatever he calls it. I wish I could stop worrying about him finding a new way to send this team in the wrong direction. I don't care how the sausage is being made at this point-- I would simply like to see us winning and competing at a higher level. If we keep McCloud in there-- that might solve many of the problems. There are just a lot of problem areas that concern me. Trust me, I'm well aware I'm in the minority and it may well not work out with CCS, but I like that he's not just sitting back and hoping everything works out like he planned before the season started. He's making & allowing changes to figure out what works with our kids, and we pulled away. One FCS game is not enough to predict conference play, though, so we'll see if the strategy pans out and we can play around those problem areas. That's something not even the great CJL was able to do, and he was sacked for it (IMO).
  20. Since we face bye this week, I'm going to take it easy and dispassionately watch the rest of the CFB world find ways to melt, and hope my Bulls are working to plug holes. 55 points & 7 turnovers was nice to see, even if against FCS competition. We needed that. bad.
  21. Funny you should mention that guy...CJL is the epitome of working with what you have vs forcing a scheme that doesn't fit your skill set. Expecting your players to be something they're not = L. Working with them to maximize the existing skills leads to wins. I'm not sure Gilbert ever got that, but I'm glad CWT eventually did. For me, jury's still out on Strong but I like where it's going.
