  1. Really!? They were only an afterthought to the AQ conferences until they started winning under Petersen, and the thought of them being nationally televised was just silly...I mean, why?
  2. Explain what? That all of those schools have a history in one of the big sports (well maybe except Illinois)? We don't have history.
  3. Just too many ?? at the QB position and no RB rising to the top yet, so without known quantities there, our O will be impotent and the D will get worn out. That's a 4-5W season, tops. If we get the energy we're all hoping for, those positions elevate, and our secondary can hold up, I'd say we're at 7+W and go bowling. Man, I hope it's the latter--I don't know how I'd take another season like the last!
  4. I've said it before, somewhere...CFL has become a business just like many other enterprises. Teams are there to get viewers, sell tix/merch, and become the "name brands" for the sport. We Bulls were on the fringe, but weren't ready so we're a have-not until we can win consistently. Winners get the above results, losers stay in CUSA (& AAC). Sucks but it is what it is until we change it by winning.
  5. Southern Miss has a pretty good FB program (still surprised they didn't get the AAC nod like ECU), they're always near/at the top of C-USA. So we'll see about Bill and how their programs do over the next few years, that's the real litmus test--that, and how OUR program does now that he's gone! Personally I'm hoping some of our struggles are his fault, so we can get up & move on. Go Bulls!
  6. idk, just too many interactions with over-hyping UCF fans for me to like them. Any game they get owned is fun for me!
  7. Psyched for BJ, you know the kid is trying hard. His physical game has never been an issue--always was the mental stuff that hurt him. With the right mentors, he could break out and become a strong NFL player!
  8. BJ would have been on the reel for sure--he was always good for a few (along with giving a few good ones for opposing D). AAC already has enough to prove without showing highlights of our backups, though. Hope we can get a couple in there this year, otherwise it's going to be a 1-dimensional game...and another looooonnnnng year.
  9. Personally I don't know if it's good or bad, but reading other blogs on it, looks like the guy could have treated people in the AD better. But who cares at this point? The guy's gone, so I'm hoping we can get someone solid that can handle people and press. He's been around since 2007, the last year we really factored in the national scene, so maybe he was just bad luck! Go Bulls!
  10. This is a good summary of the issues to me. We didn't have much solid talent under Leavitt, and shamefully predictable game plans as the year wore on (ie, one that good coaches could pick apart). Our talent pool has risen, but the coaching didn't. Also agree with the other post that said we maxed out under Leavitt--one season was a copy of the previous. Playing the political angle, I guess, but it's really seemed like a lack of 2 & 3 string talent, and a lack of a solid coaching strategy. At no time have we had a coach (+staff) that can take a game into halftime, and come out with an altered plan to exploit the other team and come out on top. Second half...same as the first. It's like saying "beat us, I implore you!" Switching to defense, I'd say we've absolutely had top 40 talent on first teams (mmmmm KoolAid), and saying we couldn't compete with Bama's third team!? Come on, man, I think you're drinking a little too much SEC KoolAid there...
  11. Yep, THAT's what I'm talkin' about! "Shiny Happy People", or "Crash" by Dave Matthews, too--slam dunks while the other guys come in.
  12. Edited Bulls on Parade thrashing would work for a while, but personally I think a rotation would be better. I mean hey, the fight song should really be the only thing we have to fight to get out of our head after a game. Like the idea about some poser song for the visiting team, though, that'd be awesome but I'm sure too non-PC to get traction.
